Better than every marketing book I have ever read Mr. Gladwell book is very easy to read and it gives very good examples and descriptions of the basic of marketing. I totally enjoyed his examples. Before that I was wondering why they always show the Tele Tubbies two times. Now it is very clear to me.

Learn why somethings happen and others don't! When I first heard of this book I thought it would be one of those -poor written, full of numbers- type of book. There is really nothing further from the truth.
This book looks in detail into the Snowball Effect - something small at some point becomes... more
Profound. This is the best non-fiction book I've read about why people act like they do since "The Lonely Crowd." Gladwell's writing, thinking and grasp of subject are excellent. He's a Maven. And a Connector. And a Salesman. And I'm Glad he is.

Marketers Take Note Not to detract from the success of Seth Godin's "Ideavirus", but after noting the publishing dates of "Tipping Point" and the former, I wondered if Gladwell's work influenced Godin and a host of other marketing authors.

Interesting Tipping Point is an interesting collection of observations that makes for a good read, although I would not call it scientific. Very well written. I advice to at least have a look at it, as it might not suit everyone. Another good read that I suggest... more

Rethinking the obvious. Common sense dictates that to succeed in marketing a product widely, a company should buy advertising in high profile media outlets during prime time. In addition, to combat teen smoking, parents should shun cigarettes themselves (to set a good example... more
Gladwell is a master of the Socratic method of teaching The title of this delightful read indicates that the point in the evolution of an "epidemic", either health related or due to marketing of a product, where it spreads from a small fire into a blazing conflagration almost overnight, is a discernable phenomena.... more
Thought provoking & applicable to real life It's not often that you read a book that can give you ideas that you can use in your everyday life, let alone in vastly diverse aspects of your life. This book gave me ideas about how to promote my books, how to help organizations promote internal change... more
Gladwell Connects the Dots and Makes Them Stick New Yorker columnist Malcolm Gladwell has a gift of turning the seemingly mundane into an organic series of findings that have universal application. His entertaining and enlightening book is really about making connections and how ideas become trends... more
Everyone should read this Some critics have called this book pseudo-science. They say author Malcolm Gladwell strings together examples of over-simplified social and economic theories in order to take the reader for a ride. These critics are right about the book taking readers... more
An Interesting Read That Is Full Of Information. "The Tipping Point" was an interesting book. I thought I would be a little overwhelmed with all the data mentioned; however, it was all mentioned in a clear cut way. I was interested in this book, as I help my personal assistant market my books.... more
New terms for old theories I read this book last week over the course of a businesss trip. Gladwell presents a list of case studies where an idea, product, or disease did or didn't succeed. His case studies are superficially interesting, and Gladwell attempts to reorganize phenomena... more
Spread Something / Tip it over The Tipping Point - a book many people I know who are in leadership have already read - it is great. While some have maligned this book calling it a reach, I disagree. It makes sense. This in-depth analysis of trends, and how they happen, how to make... more
Valuable insights we can use to improve Homeland Security The lessons learned from the Tipping Point could be useful for communities fine-tuning their disaster response plans.
People communicate and congregate in ways that can be understood before a crisis crystallizes.

Too many interesting stories with little focus After I read "Blink" by the same author, I become familiar with his characteristic style. He uses many references and tells many stories that are informative and amusing for a young person with little scope of the big world, or someone who wants to kill... more
Insightful and informative Very interesting read. I am surprised that although I have seen the book quoted umpteen times, I have not seen its findings touted as much (max 150 number people circle, etc). I think its concenpts could be great for marketing people who could depend... more
Gladwell is onto something important... This is an original and absorbing social thesis. Gladwell has taken a fresh perspective on those elements in society that determine radical change. Why do certain trends like fashion or political opinion, explode in popularity, while others never get... more
Disappointed. All that hype! Malcolm Gladwell is a genius... in getting publicity for himself. As a writer for the New Yorker, he must have a lot of pull in the publishing and P.R. circles... in the publishing and P.R. capital of New York. I kind of like that wild hair, but I also... more
Highly stimulating read Malcolm Gladwell investigates the patterns of human behavior and shows how the word-of-mouth works. The introduced term "tipping point" makes this book a precious read for every one trying to understand human behavior, whose basics run as deep as the... more
