The Illustrations are important. I loved, loved, loved this book. I thought the plot was wonderful, I cared about the characters & best of all I learned about things I never knew. Mostly I'm writing this to let others know that if you are going to buy this book, you might as well get this illustrated edition. Because through out reading, I constantly had to get online and look up art & locations in France, etc. This book will make it so much easier to really get in deep with what he's saying & not have to take the breaks to do your own image research.
