Grisham is a better writer than this I'll have to admit that I was disappointed with John Grisham's lastest novel, The Broker. I purchased the book new but wish now I'd waited and picked it up at the library. I was hoping to read something close to the "The Firm" or one of his better books. But this one left me sadly disappointed. I think he got a little carried away with speaking Italian to the point that at times I thought it was almost boring. And if there's anything I hate, it's paying for a book that can bore me. Something in me wants to think he had the right idea for a really good plot, but just didn't know how to carry it through to make the story exciting...a real page turner. I'm sure Grisham put lot of effort into this, so I can only wish him better luck next time.
