I just gotta throw this out there....

So, I've been reading the reviews of "I Am Charlotte Simmons," in which most people have problems like "Charlotte isn't a normal college freshman." And to that I say, Exactly. The point is that he is trying to SEE the normal college student through the eyes of an "abnormal" student- one who does not enjoy parties and is not promiscous. I am that student. After leaving home for a name school, I came home for my sophomore year. Why? Because I am Charlotte- that student who doesn't fit in not because she's different than average society as much as that she is different than the college students of today (and the past, I'm sure). It is important, I think, for college students to read this book. Even if you're not like Charlotte, even if you're the frat boy or the promiscous roommate, it would be worth your time, even if only to enlighten you as to the perspective of other individuals. Through time, I have come to understand and accept other's choices to participate in certain activities, and I hope that this book could do the same for others about my choices not to.
