Who is....How come?????

Who is reviewer Borstelman and why does Amazon keep repeating his one star review? (March 8, March 10, Feb.24)

In case Amazon allows this review: the book is great. It is the best novel on the best seller list. Its placement is a miracle considering the 'hatchet job' reviews. Boy, did Tom Wolfe step on some toes with this one.

On the surface, it is about a bright young woman of conviction and inteligence who enters a world that is strange and dangerous to her and offensive to many of the reviewers. There are other characters, all well developed. The story is filled with details that justify a rereading for all the humor. I had to omit some of the graphic parts in order to re read.

As others have mentioned you can read the story in different ways. One thing I noticed that I thought was funny: the scene involving the Gov. of California. It and Charlotte's belief or confusion about love (seeing love in Hoyts eyes etc) reminded me of a scandal involving a recent president and a young intern(who seemed to believe that the President had loved her). How can people say the book is not realistic?

My favorite character was Camille who Charlotte did not seem to like. I read the book as a critique on the results of feminism.(One sex bathrooms..ugh). Adam defends feminism and yet he is rejected...not manly enough. The animosity towards Charlotte seemed to be because she was a virgin and that the guys were attracted to her innocence. But that is what makes the book so good...as the reviews indicate different people find different meanings. One thing for sure, the details tie together in a funny manner...like when Adam quotes the early feminists in defense of Camille while thinking about Charlotte in a manner they would criticize.

The characters are well developed if you read their histories. The four major ones are at Dupont with the help of some sort of financial aid (if you count JOJO and sports scholarships). The book is not just for college students or young people.

Anyway, I did not intend to write this. I noticed the repetitive reviews by the one star reviewer and wanted to ask Amazon what they were doing. While I was at it I thought I would say that its a great novel for adults of all ages (even young adults).
