Unbelievable, astonishing, amazing... Nothing I can say here will do this amazing text justice. I started reading this book because I have always had a deep interest in grail lore and the Crusades. What I found between the covers of this masterpiece was something that I was absolutely not... more
A Leap of Faith Many people consider organized religion to be a leap of faith. This book is a larger leap fo faith. The authors run into questionable material through out their research, and each time they lean to the side that supports their research. In defense,... more
Second coming Now I am not a linguist, or medievalist, or art historian, or comparative theologist so I can not argue the statement present in this book on that ground. I will leave that to other, properly educated people.
Why did I rate this book five... more
Total fabrication This book of "non-fiction" makes almost as many fantastical leaps of logic with little or no evidentiary support as the fictional work that draws so heavily upon it, namely Dan Brown's "The DaVinci Code".
There is a reason that this book... more
Dry, Dry, Dry!! Never did like "history"...And this book is a good example why!
Boring, boring, dry, dry...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Don't be so dramatic!! I love to read all the other reviews of this book. These people can be so dramatic. Come on! I read this book long before I read the Da Vinci Code along with some others from the same authors (i.e. Mr. Lincoln). Believe me, it isn't such a big deal!

Anything that flies in the face of blind-faith... There's certainly as much evidence--if not more--to support the authors' hypotheses as there is to discount them... the only arguments against that statement being variations on "that's not what the Bible says." That is I believe one of their main and... more
Huh, no! I decided to read this "book" after reading the wildly popular THE DA VINCI CODE, wondering what the fuss was all about. I'm open to all sorts of ideas and concepts, no matter how wild they are. But I'm not open to badly researched and written books.... more
Interesting to non bible thumpers I guess if you believe everything written in the bible you shouldn't read this. However I don't believe everything in the bible so this book was interesting to me.

Assumptions based on weak connections This is an interesting speculation, and rather fun in that regard, but somewhat tenuous in it's logical assumptions. Many of the "connections" presented don't necessarily follow from the evidence presented. Rather, they only "MIGHT" be possible. No... more
Reminds us of the origins of Christianity We sometimes forget a few things about established organized religion.
1. The Bible is not complete. A few guys who were the upper eschelon of their "cult" got together (with their own agenda) and decided which scriptures could be included.... more
An INVESTIGATION, not supositions like others claim Perhaps just coincidence, maybe truth. The deal with this book is that is an investigation based on the believe that Jesus didn't die in the cross and his blood line still survives. It presents facts, you can buy them or not, but you cannot disapprove... more
Interesting...but not well-reasoned... Holy Blood, Holy Grail takes a fascinating subject matter to, ultimately, an unsatisfying conclusion. A more interesting and spiritually significant treatment of this subject can be found in Margaret Starbird's The Woman with the Alabaster Jar.

Horrible!!!Psuedo Cool People Will Love This Piece!! This book is horrible. If you are a reader with any kind of intelligence, you will not enjoy this book. I would rather read an encyclopedia from cover to cover. What do these authors base their facts on. I think Jesus was a woman. Oh my gosh, did I just... more
Never forget this is fiction! I bought this book thinking the authors did a good job investigating all their claims.
And indeed when you read the book, it all seems very convincing and you get the impression the authors did their homework.
Unfortunately: none of... more
Fact or Fiction?? This book is an interesting peice of work. It appears to be very well researched and presents some very interesting arguements against established historical beleifs. It challenges the premise that the scriptures are exacts accounts of events that took... more
Would that it where A fascinating and eye opening read and a great companion to the Davinci Code. Granted that about the middle 1/3 of the book (long section on geneologies) is difficult to follow. However, if you make it through the rewards are great. True? Who knows, who... more
Good......fiction, but good. I read this back in the 80s, when it came out, and was
intrigued. It did inspire me to a bit more historical
scholarship than I had gone in for up to then, and found
that in my opinion that the authors' conclusions are a
giant... more
Not for light reading! This book was a real struggle to read. For about 3/4 the author takes us through a morass of genealogies and accounts of old historical figures without really an end in sight. Just when I think I understand what he is trying to present, he jumps to a... more
Not for true Christians This book is merely a collection of conspiracy theories and the reader can't help but look for black helicopters. Should be on the fiction list with "The Da Vinci Code."
