My first children's book Many rave about this book, though there are some detractors. Personally, this was the first children's book I have ever read. You see, I didn't grow up being read to. When I was doing my teacher training, we were each asked to read a children's book to the class. So I chose this title. I liked its repeating lines, which were comforting and hypnotic. I liked the surrealness of the cow jumping over the moon. This book is simple and yet irresistible. I have since read many other children's books, but this one still holds a magnetic pull on me. That probably says a lot about me.
