Pause for thought
PROS:
1. A good read for anyone interested in human psychology.
2. Challenges the assumption a well thought-out process must be inherently better than a snap judgement (often it is not).
3. Illustrates well how our prejudices influence our initial perceptions.
CON:
Other than already being an expert in a given field, doesn't elaborate much on practical "tools" the rest of us could use to improve our snap judgement skills.
CONCLUSION:
The true stories he uses to illustrate his assertions are, for the most part, interesting and informative. There are some useful take-away points, but the concluding chapter could have been a bit stronger in terms of harnessing "the power of thinking without thinking".
